So a little over a week ago i stopped on the way home and when i went to start the bike up, i go the clicking sounds but wouldn't turn over. I read many posts about this issue. Many seemed to be the solenoid (which is what i thought it was also) or the starter relay. I went and bought a new solenoid and relay (figured doesn't hurt to have a new one in it as i bought the bike used a little over a year ago, it's an 05). Went to install the new solenoid and the crimp connector that connects the negative wire to the solenoid just fell apart into a couple pieces. Don't know what caused it to be so brittle, weather other corrosion or who knoes what. After prying the old crimp connector off and clamping a new one on, started up fine. I always had the clicking issue when starting the bike. It would do it a few times then start up. Now, after replacing the crimp connector, it starts up great.
Just thought i would share this as it seems to be a relatively common problem on here.
