I am looking at a few different V-Rods on the used market, and have noticed some differences between them. I was hoping the knowledgeable people here would be able to help with my observations. I have been lurking and reading about this here quite a bit, but seem to come across the same threads again and again.
I really like and prefer the look of the Muscle, but may end up with a NRS if it's more comfortable. We don't do a lot of long trips, but the occasional weekend trip to Duluth is not uncommon.
1) 2010 VRSCF / Muscle - Aggressive riding position, I find myself having to lean forward to reach the bars.
2) 2012 VRSCDX / Night Rod - Riding position and bars feel less aggressive than #1. I'm not sure if this is because of the regular bars vs. the muscle bars, or if they changed things from 2011 and earlier.
3) 2012+ VRSCF / Muscle - I haven't sat on one of these yet. I understand that the way the controls were mounted changed, but am wondering if someone knows if the riding position is less aggressive than pre-2012.
If the Muscle, regardless of year, is just more aggressive than the NRS, I suppose I could fix that with a Budman riser, but would prefer not to if I can avoid it.
Thanks in advance!
