hardwiring a tablet instead of BT???

Is there anyway the software you get for the tablets to run real time engine data on a tablet can be hardwired instead of using BT ???Reason I ask is cause instead of running both BT and wire to charge the tablet it would be easier just to deal with one wire than with always having to pair the BT ..
I dont know if there as enough power coming from the VRFI data plug so its a pretty good question ..
