Front brake pad replacement?

I'm looking for some insight on brand of front pads for my '11 NRS. Stay with stock HD brand or read about Lyndall pads? Any others? I'm hoping to avoid replacing the stock rotor at this point as there's still plenty of thickness on the rotor. Would really just like to put fresh pads on and go. Is it similar to car rotors that they should be turned (or replaced) with the replacement of the pads.
