Ello all.
So, some of you may remember one (or both) of my previous rebuilds of my 2011 VRSCDX Night Rod Special from this thread.
Here's a quick recap for those that don't care to sift through several pages:
2010 August:
- Was in the Army. Bought a new 2011 Night Rod Special just days after the model came out - two days after I got back from a tour in Iraq. She was a present to myself.
- But, when I was still in Iraq, I already rec'd order to go to Okinawa for three years starting in November.
2010 November:
- Got to Okinawa. Loved it. Took nearly 6 months to get an American bike licensed there (and well over $4500). I had some detailed write-ups on the process. I can try to dig 'em up for anyone interested.
2011 May: No sooner did I get my motorcycle back than did it get hit by Typhoon Songda. I was away on TDY, and despite it being in a military parking garage (Covered, exposed walls. Wayyy in the back as far away as possible), it was devastated by salt water, and left to sit while I was away training for two months.
2012 April: Finally got a payout from the gov't to start fixing it. Ripped it apart:

And built it back up:
.
Again, see this thread for that build:
2014 March:
Did it again! Because I hate myself, I stripped her down, and did it all over again. There was some minor rust, and I wanted a show-quality motorcycle. Even though I had a fitted cover, she had been stored outside at times, and the elements got to her again.
Nowhere near as much damage as before, but I was seeking perfection. I wasn't happy with some of the powder coat from when I was in Okinawa. Re did the whole thing.
The only pics I have are the day I pulled it out of the garage.

2015 September:
Riding home from a night out with a girl. Some asshole puts me into a curb. No serious injuries, except for the bike:

2016 September:
A year later, I got a life-changing promotion. Have my own house now, and resources to get this bad-boy running again.
LET IT BEGIN.
