I know there are a couple of threads on this subject, but not much in the way of detail. So I'd like to make this one about my LED setup.
I ordered a mount and Eagle LED from alteredstatedesign.net which took about a week and half to get to me. Not terribly bad, but I was anxious to get it in and installed.
I chose to cut off my original HD plugs about an inch and half past the bulb sockets. I then soldered the original wires to an H4 socket I picked up at a local auto parts store. It would have been easier to just solder some spade connectors to the the wires and push them onto the H4 plug on the LED, but I couldn't find any large enough locally. So I had to use the H4 connector and wire them accordingly. Yellow is Low beam, White is High Beam, and both Blacks are ground.
All in all it took me around 45 minutes start to finish. For some reason, the LED came mounted in the mount in a way I couldn't get it to sit right in the shroud. It wouldn't tilt into the proper angle nor would the 2 mounting holes line up. After 10 or so minutes, I determined it must be mounted upside down. So I removed the 4 screws at the back of the mount and spun the LED fixture. Now everything lined up and the angle was correct and fully adjustable.
Hope this helps anyone in the future that may order this kit. BTW, the mount is awesome. Great finish and it looks like it should have come this way from HD. And the Eagle bulb is very high quality and bringht! I've attached a pic of it for everyone to see. BTW, this pic was taken with flash. Without it was hard to see the details of the LED bulbs.
Thanks.
