So I have had my 2013 VROD Muscle for a little more than a week, and have put just 105 miles on it. The first night I parked it on the patio and the next day noticed a little oil spot underneath the left side. I changed the oil and noticed that the under carriage was covered in oil, but it wasn't coming from the filter or drain plug. Also, the left side middle of the bike had lots of oil, all the way from the air filter cover down to the underneath left side rail (see picture). When lifting up the seat I noticed that the entire area under the seat, including the top of the gas tank, was all covered in oil. After removing the outside cover and inside air filter cover, I realized that the oil intake tube that feeds into the air filter area was completely disconnected! One other odd thing I have been noticing is that when I ride to work, all 1.78 miles of it, I arrive smelling like oil and gas. I wear scrubs and when I get to work and sit at my desk it is very noticeable. This has to be coming from the loose hose right?! I replaced the clamp and reconnected the hose, plus used Simple Green and some fresh water to try and clean up this nasty mess. Seemed to have worked pretty well as now I can see the shiny metal under the antifreeze overflow tank. I followed it with a good drying with the leaf blower. Only time will tell if this was the cause of the oil leak and stinky clothes.
