Attachment 499665While you R V-RODDER guys and gals have been eating pudding and comfortably sleeping in your Charlie Brown pajamas I have been busy tapping your phones, hacking your emails, and talking to the Russians. I have been easy dropping and trolling in the background for years listening to all your extreme and ghastly ideas. Some I have stolen and some I have giving to whatever political party you dont like.
I hope someone got a chuckle out of that. (I did.)
On the somewhat more serious side of things, I have been reading many posts for the past year and have gotten several wonderful ideas.
I want to THANK ALL those who have contributed now and in the past to this wonderful forum. It is very informative and entertaining.
I purchased a 2006 VRSCR a little over a year ago and have never been the same since. I enjoy this bike more than any other I have ever owned. I have had a blast doing modifications to it and hope to continue.
Here is a list of Mods and features I have completed so far.
1. HD Slipper clutch. I have arthritis in my hands and this makes a lot easier pull and you get the added safety feature.
2. HD Heritage Handel bars. Puts the grips right where I want them. No pressure on my wrist and no lean. I sit up straight all day. I extended all lines and cables. Barnett Throttle and Idle cables. Magnum Brake and Clutch lines.
3. Knight Design 2 lower foot pegs. Made a world of difference in comfort. I havent scraped them yet.
4. HD Mid-sport windshield. Works OK but I am on the hunt for a bigger one.
5. HD Saddle Bags. I like that they are detachable but they are small. I would have preferred the Beetle bags but I thought it was too much money. I like hard cases because you can clean them easely.
6. RKA tank bag and SAC tail bag. Both great bags that work well.
7. Braided Stainless Coolant Lines. Looks good.
8. HD luggage rack and back rest.
9. Corbin Hollywood Solo and Pillion seats. Nice seat but pushes me into the Airbox so I use the Air-Hawk cushion. It levels me out. I ask Corbin to make the seat level but I guess it fell on death ears.
There are many little things I have forgotten or didnt list for fear of going on too long. Some will like what I have done and some will think I have mutilated a perfectly good VRSCR. I wanted an American Made Sport Touring bike and I think I have a pretty good one here. I was going to mod a Sportster 1200R I had but decided to go with the V-Rod and I am tickled pink I did. The Sportster is a great bike but I like the V-Rod a bunch mo better.
