Shock screw

Hi! The screw, that is fastening the left rear shock to the rear fork, is on my VRSCA 2006 a M12x1.75x70mm. When I now try to get a new screw from Harley, they say that the screw is 80mm long. I´m VERY sure, that it is the original shocks on the bike! The 80mm screw is too long to fit! Anybody knows what´s the problem?!?
